It’s been a rough year for Puddle of Mudd lead singer Wes Scantlin, who was arrested for the fourth time this year during the week before Christmas, TMZ reports.
Scantlin was arrested in Beverly Hills, Calif. during a routine traffic stop. Police pulled the lead singer over because of his vehicle’s expired registration tags, but soon realized that there was a warrant out for his arrest. After searching his car, they discovered unspecified illegal narcotics and placed him under arrest. His bail was set at US$51,000, which he posted after a few hours.

His previous three arrests in 2015 occurred in three different states; the first, in January, was for riding the baggage carousel at the Denver airport, which eventually transported him to a restricted area. The Puddle of Mudd concert that night only took place because a fan bailed him out of jail, according to Rolling Stone.
In July, Scantlin was involved in a high-speed chase with police in Minnesota. When authorities finally caught up with him and administered a breathalyzer test, Scantlin blew nearly four times the legal alcohol limit. He was charged with fleeing officers and DUI.

Finally, in August, the singer was arrested again for DUI and marijuana possession in South Dakota.
Scantlin has a varied and storied past of arrests, well before 2015. He’s caused a disturbance on a plane, pleaded guilty to cocaine possession and once took a buzz saw and sledgehammer to his neighbour’s porch.
