It’s coming up to the busiest night of the year for Operation Red Nose, but volunteers say there is still a need for drivers on New Year’s Eve.

The service offers a safe ride home for people who don’t feel fit to drive after a night of celebrating, but don’t want to leave their car overnight.

Riders pay by making a donation.

Every year, volunteers provide hundreds of rides across the Lower Mainland although they don’t operate in the city of Vancouver.

Anyone who wants to use the service is asked to call an hour or two before they are ready to be picked up.

People interested in driving are encouraged to visit the group’s website.
