Canada’s Christine Sinclair moves into tie for second on all-time scoring list

NATAL, Brazil – Canada’s Christine Sinclair scored goal No. 158 of her career on Sunday as Canada beat Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 at the International Tournament of Natal.

The goal ties Sinclair with American superstar Mia Hamm for second on the all-time women’s scoring list.

Sinclair’s goal came in the 85th minute and gave the Canadians a four-goal advantage. Nichelle Prince, Rebecca Quinn and Diana Matheson also found the back of the net for Canada.

It was the 230th cap for Sinclair, who made her debut for Canada in 2000.

American Abby Wambach owns top spot on the all-time list with 184 career goals.

Sinclair has a chance to take sole possession of second all-time on Wednesday when the Canadians face host Brazil at the Natal tournament.
