VANCOUVER – Music icon Neil Young has declared that “Canada is back” now that a Liberal government is in charge in Ottawa.
The 70-year-old singer-songwriter says it’s obvious that people are delighted with the change in government and he considers it to be positive news too.

Young says he wishes Justin Trudeau and his government the best when it comes to taking action against climate change, an issue he has also championed.
He applauded Alberta Premier Rachel Notley’s introduction of plans for a new carbon tax, saying it is a sign that capitalism is working.

The Canadian musician, who now lives in California, was in Vancouver to launch his high-resolution audio player and online store.
Young says he doesn’t care if his Pono brand is a “gigantic, fast-moving, super-success,” his mission is simply aimed at generating a resurgence in high-quality music.
