Enmax announces dozens of layoffs

CALGARY – In the wake of a number of layoffs announced in recent weeks, Enmax has come forward with its plans to pare down staff.

“Like many businesses, Enmax is impacted by the changes taking place in our industry and in the Alberta economy,” said spokesperson Doris Kaufmann Woodcock.

About sixty management and professional workforce positions will be eliminated. No front-line customer service or field staff are part of the reductions.

“We are focusing on managing our business and adapting to the changing conditions while continuing to safely serve our customers,” Kaufmann Woodcock wrote in an email to Global News.

She said senior management (VPs) have been reduced by 16 per cent throughout 2015.
