Drivers charged in recent roundabout rollovers

LETHBRIDGE – Two recent crashes, involving cattle haulers, at the new Nobleford roundabout had sparked debate over whether the design was safe for large commercial vehicles.

RCMP are pointing the finger at the drivers involved, laying charges in both incidents at the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 519.

The first happened on Oct. 29 around 11:35 p.m.  Picture Butte RCMP have charged the driver, Randall Huss of Swift Current, with careless driving and several log book violations. 11 cattle died on impact and five others had to be euthanized after his truck ran into the traffic circle.

On Nov. 10, another cattle liner tipped while taking the roundabout. Abram Redecop of Coaldale has been charged with speeding and failing to judge the proper space for a movement. 11 cattle died in the crash.
