Kelowna RCMP bust large stolen vehicle enterprise

Kelowna – RCMP say almost a quarter million dollars in stolen property has been recovered following a seven week investigation targeting auto theft.

The project started after police received information and observed stolen vehicles on a rural property on Highway 97 in Peachland.

During the investigation, officers recovered mostly Ford pickup trucks that were stolen from various Okanagan communities as well as Dawson Creek and Calgary.

A 21-year-old West Kelowna man was arrested after attempting to flee police in a stolen Ford F-350 pickup.

RCMP are recommending seven people be charged with 32 Criminal Code offenses.
