The bail hearing started Wednesday with the testimony of two police officers and is expected to wrap up Thursday. The judge may make his decision immediately or delay a decision.

Crown prosecutor Susan MacKay said Sandeson would be a risk if released and should be kept in custody.

Defence lawyer Eugene Tan said Sandeson does not have a criminal history and therefore not at risk to re-offend.

Details of the hearing are under a publication ban.
