“New Democrats understand the important role that the Tree Nursery has played in prairie agriculture,” said Regina Qu’Appelle NDP Candidate Nial Kuyek.

“After the bungled sales attempt under the Conservatives, Western farmers deserve a government that will invest in valuable local services“.

In the 2012/2013 Federal Government’s budget they put an axe to the program.

The New Democrats say they plan to establish a long term strategy for public agricultural research, and announced a $40 million investment over four years towards public seed breeding and on-farm environmental stewardship.
