Police asking public for help after man’s $26K Rolex stolen from locker room

TORONTO — Police are investigating after a Rolex watch worth more than $25,000 was stolen from a hotel changing room locker in July.

The watch, a Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665, was stolen from the Eaton Chelsea Hotel at 33 Gerrard St. W. on July 17 at 12:30 p.m.

Police said a 46-year-old man entered the swimming pool area of the hotel on the 27th floor. While there, he placed his belongings in the changing room locker at about 11:30 a.m.

At some point between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., an unknown person opened the locker and stole the man’s watch, which was valued at about $26,000.

Police are requesting the public’s help with this investigation.

If anyone knows of any person who has recently and inexplicably come into possession of the same type of watch, they are asked to contact the police.
