STELLARTON, NS – The funeral for Catherine Campbell is happening in Stellarton on Monday, and before the service members of the Truro Police force lead a procession through the streets of the community.
The service is being held at the First Presbyterian Church in Stellarton, and police are preparing for over 1000 people to be in attendance. Campbell’s entire graduating class from the police academy will be there to pay their respects.
Along with members of the police force, paramedics and firefighters are participating in the march through the small town of Stellarton, to line the steps of the church.

From the church an honour guard will guide the procession to the burial site and then the fire station. Campbell’s family will also be in this procession.
Const. Catherine Campbell is believed to have been murdered in the early hours of Setpember 11. She was reported missing to police on September 14, and her body was located on September 16.
She was a member of the Truro Police force, and had served for 10 years as a volunteer firefighter in Stellarton.
In an obituary published on Friday, Campbell was remembered as a compassionate and caring woman who loved her family and helping others.
