On Sunday night RCMP received a call from a crew working southeast of Maple Creek reporting that they heard a muffled ‘mayday’ transmission over the radio in their vehicle.

RCMP learned that there were three possible locations where a distressed plane would attempt to land, including two near Maple Creek and one near Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Further checks revealed that all logged commercial and smaller planes were accounted for, though it is possible that an unlogged aircraft may have been in distress. Investigations by Maple Creek RCMP and the Medicine Hat Police Service have turned up no evidence of a missing plane.
