TORONTO – Rosie O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter has been found safe after reports she was missing.

The actress took to Twitter to thank the public for their support and help finding Chelsea O’Donnell.

Chelsea O’Donnell had been last seen on August 11 in Nyack, New York, with her six-month-old therapy dog.

Rosie took to her blog and Twitter on Tuesday to plead for the public’s help. The tweet claiming Chelsea was found was posted six hours later.

The 53-year-old actress and comedian initially said her daughter had been last seen wearing a black sweatshirt hoodie, dark ripped blue jeans, grey converse sneakers and a black backpack.

In her blog post, Rosie described Chelsea saying she had a large tattoo of a dream catcher with the word “Breathe” on the right side of her body. Chelsea’s dog was described as a 9-pound brown and black terrier.

Rosie’s spokesperson Cindi Berger issued a statement saying: “Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe.”

The actress tweeted that her daughter may be in New York City.

Rosie adopted Chelsea with her then-wife Kelli Carpenter in 1997.

In February, Rosie left The View to focus on her “health and family” and to “minimize stress.”

“It’s hard, marriage is complicated,” Rosie said following her exit on the show. ”I’ve got five kids, four of them are teenagers…there’s lots of stuff going on at home and lots of stuff going on at work.”

In March, Chelsea’s biological mother told the National Enquirer that Rosie stole the child away from her.

“I may not have been the best mother back then. I did drugs and I have a criminal record because of it,” Deanna Micoley told the tabloid. “She did the worst thing one woman can do to another woman – take her child.”

Micoley told the Enquirer she was on drugs and claims her then-husband forced the mother to give up the 2-month-old baby.
