One dead in fiery Highway 7 crash near Kindersley, Sask.

KINDERSLEY, Sask. – One person is dead after a fiery crash on Highway 7 near Kindersley, Sask. The crash between a flatbed semi and a pickup truck happened Tuesday just after 12:30 p.m. about one kilometre west of Flaxcombe.

Mounties say the westbound semi and the eastbound pickup collided head-on at the crest of a hill. Both vehicles involved caught fire, which was put out by Kindersley firefighters.

The lone driver of the pickup was declared dead at the scene.

Mounties believe the driver was an adult male and the coroner’s office will be assisting in confirming the victim’s identity.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

The highway was closed for several hours while police carried out their investigation.
