Summary: Located between Sarnia and London, Conservative MP Bev Shipley seeks a fourth term in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Boundaries: A large riding in western Ontario, this district is bordered by Lake Huron in the north, the Thames River in the south and extends out to Lake St. Clair but excludes part of Lambton County. The largest population centres in this riding are the western suburbs of London (Strathroy, Konoka), and the riverside town of Wallaceburg.
Last Election: Shipley defeated NDP candidate Joe Hill by 33.7 per cent, his largest margin of victory in three elections.
History: While the riding has gone to Shipley by substantial margins the last three elections, this is a rural Ontario riding that has been generally favourable to the Liberal Party. Rose-Marie Ur held the region for the Liberals from 1993 to 2006, and prior to that, the defunct ridings of Kent and Lambton-Middlesex elected PC and Liberal candidates in equal numbers for decades.
Demographics: English is the mother tongue of 90 per cent of people in this riding, the 13th highest number in Ontario.
