MONTREAL – An overnight stabbing in downtown Montreal has sent one man to hospital.

The incident happened around 3:15 a.m. Monday just outside the McDonald’s restaurant on Sainte-Catherine Street Ouest near Mackay Street.

“A man, bleeding, presented himself to police,” said Manuel Couture with Montreal police.

“The first information we have is it seems like it was an altercation between two individuals that degenerated.”

The victim was stabbed in the arm and leg.

“He was transported to hospital with serious wounds, but we do not fear for his life at the moment,” said Couture.

Police have arrested a suspect.
