Federal Election 2015: Vancouver Quadra riding results

Real time live results available on Monday, October 19 2015 after polls close. Overall results will be available here.

Summary: The westernmost of Vancouver’s six ridings, Liberal MP Joyce Murray is seeking a third term in Vancouver Quadra.

Boundaries: All of Vancouver west of Arbutus Street and West Boulevard, including the University Endownment Lands and the University of British Columbia.

Last Election: Liberal MP Joyce Murray won her third successive election against Conservative candidate Deborah Meredith, defeating her by 3.5 per cent.

The addition of a sixth Vancouver riding, Vancouver Granville, has taken the ultra-rich Shaughnessy out of this riding. Had the new boundaries been in place last election, Murray would have won by 7.1 per cent instead.

History: The riding, home of many wealthy older Vancouver families, generally elected Progressive Conservative candidates for much of the 20th century, but it was taken by Liberal leader John Turner in 1984, and has remained with the Liberal Party ever since.

Provincially, the area had almost exclusively voted for conservative candidates until Premier Christy Clark was defeated by NDP MLA David Eby in the 2013 election.
