REGINA – Temporary layoffs were announced for around 40 to 50 employees at the Evraz steel plant in Regina
This announcement comes shortly after a $200 million expansion was announced for the facility.
In a statement from Evraz North America, they say the layoffs are to “align crew levels with production activity, which is currently lower due to reduced steel demand associated with substantially lower oil drilling activity.”
