WINNIPEG – Arson caused the fire that resulted in an estimated $2.4-million damage to an Exchange District building immortalized on a Guess Who album, Winnipeg police say.
The Bannatyne Apartments, which are featured on the cover of the 1971 album So Long, Bannatyne, were vacant and under renovation at the time of the fire on the morning of May 10.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner investigated the fire and determined it was intentionally lit.
