TORONTO – Ryan Gosling paid tribute to a Vine meme creator by finally eating some cereal.
Ryan McHenry, the man behind the “Ryan Gosling won’t eat his cereal” meme, died of cancer over the weekend. He was 27 years old.
McHenry’s video memes became Internet hits in 2013. The Scotland-native told The Verge he created the meme after watching Drive while eating a bowl of cereal.
McHenry shot several Vines of Gosling’s characters refusing to eat cereal.
In an April interview, Gosling admitted to loving cereal, which prompted McHenry to create one last Vine.

On Monday, the Canadian actor paid tribute to the filmmaker by posting video of himself finally eating some cereal.
Gosling also tweeted a heartfelt message.
Vine also tweeted a message to the late filmmaker.
