Investigators are continuing their search at the scene of Monday’s Scarborough house explosion that killed a 57-year-old man.

Wayne Romaine of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office says nine homes are still affected by the blast. He says damage to neighbouring houses varies and the extent at each individual unit will determine how long it will take for families return to their homes.

“Some might be cosmetic, some might be more severe,” said Romaine. “Obviously they have been exposed to a tremendous shock from this explosion.”

Authorities say the body of the victim, identified as Paul Zigomanis, was found at the rear of the house.

Romaine says an autopsy has been done on Zigomanis.

“The occupant and, or, victim in this explosion has died as a result of explosion related injuries.

Romaine says the investigation at the scene will continue until at least Saturday.
