TORONTO – A seven-year-old autistic boy may have sent George Lucas one of the cutest, and now viral, letters the director has ever received.
California native Colin Gilpatric was upset to learn that Jedis are not permitted to give in to their emotions — by falling in love, getting married and having kids — because that’s a path to the Dark Side.

He wrote a letter to Star Wars creator George Lucas, in September, asking for the rules to be changed.
“I don’t like that a Jedi cannot get married,” Colin wrote. “I want to get married without becoming a Sith.”
Colin’s mother, Peggy, posted Lucasfilms’ November response one week ago on YouTube and the video has gone viral, being watched more than 150,000 times by Monday morning.

BELOW: Colin Gilpatric couldn’t believe his luck when he opened a package from Lucasfilm.
Colin received a letter from the Hollywood mogul’s representatives along with a Star Wars character encyclopedia, comics, stickers and a dashing photo of Lucas himself.
“To be a Jedi is to truly know the value of friendship, of compassion, and of loyalty, and these are values important in a marriage,” the official response stated.
“When you find someone that you can connect to in a selfless way, then you are on the path of light, and the dark side will not take hold of you. With this goodness in your heart, you can be married.”
Colin’s reaction to the news was absolutely priceless.
“I can get married?” he shouted in a video. “No way!”
