Two Toronto men arrested in human trafficking investigation

TORONTO – Toronto police have released the identities of two suspects in connection to a human trafficking investigation involving a 17-year-old girl.

Police allege the under age victim was taken to hotels throughout the Greater Toronto Area and forced into the sex-trade over a period of three months.

It is further alleged the accused threatened her family’s safety when the victim attempted to leave.

The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Deshawn Holmes and 19-year-old Nathan Turnbull, both from Toronto.

Both Holmes and Turnbull were arrested April 1 and face charges including trafficking in persons under 18 years by exercising control, procuring person under 18 years, uttering threats and criminal harassment.

Authorities believe there may be more victims and anyone with information about the case is urged to contact police.
