Manitoba’s rebel NDPers back in the family after healing session

WINNIPEG – The rebel MLA’s who spoke out against the Premier five months ago have been welcomed back into caucus with full privileges.

Greg Selinger made the announcement following a party retreat this afternoon.

“It’s a big day,” said Seligner. “Everyone is now a participating member of caucus.”

Oswald and five other MLAs haven’t been allowed to attend caucus meetings since the premier’s leadership was publicly challenged last fall.

All six were invited to the retreat at St. Benedict’s Monastery. It was the first time all MLA’s had been in the same room since the Premier narrowly held onto his job following a March 8th leadership vote.

Oswald said the conversations taking place inside were frank and “not always easy” but the party is moving forward.

“I am not leaving this meeting in tears,” she said. “It was positive.”
