Shot fired at vehicle in 8th Street parking lot in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police are investigating after a shooting on 8th Street Saturday night. A caller reported shots being fired from one vehicle toward another in a parking lot in the 3500-block of 8th Street East around 11:45 p.m.

Officers have confirmed a vehicle was struck, at least once, but a man in the vehicle was not hit by gun fire.

Residents from a nearby apartment complex in the Wildwood neighbourhood said they heard gunshots then reported a vehicle speeding onto Tait Crescent and two men abandoning it.

Members of the police canine unit were called in and two persons of interest were detained for questioning following a lengthy search.

Police are currently interviewing several witnesses.
