WINNIPEG — Donations have doubled in less than a day for the Froese family, which was devastated by a fatal fire early Wednesday morning. Four of the family’s eight children died in the blaze in their home near Kane Manitoba.
An account was set up Wednesday afternoon at the Access Credit Union to accept donations for the family and by the end of the day Thursday just over $23,000 was donated. By Friday afternoon that number had more than doubled to $47,000.

The four boys Henry, 9, Danny, 10, Timmy, 12 and Bobby, 15, were asleep in their bedrooms when the blaze started around midnight. Their mother managed to rescue three of the children and the father was injured when he attempted to rescue the four boys from their second-storey bedrooms.
At a local high school hockey game earlier this week donations were accepted instead of paying admission to the game. Just over $2,000 was raised for the Froese family
Emmanuel Gospel Church in Lowe Farm offered a house for the family. The home is unfurnished but the community is coming together to furnish the home purely through donations.
A Facebook group has also been set up for the family. A list of items the family needs as well as other information can be found on the Kane Fire Tragedy page and the Donate Love Facebook page is also spreading information. A Go Fund me page has also been set up to accept donations and can be found here.
