Send flowers with a personal message

Nectar Flowers – an Ottawa-based startup – allows users to send floral arrangement to anyone with a mobile device. The app only requires the recipient’s cellphone number, email address or Twitter account to start an order. The florist contacts the recipient to arrange a delivery spot and time that’s convenient.

For the guy that doesn’t want to risk buying the wrong size

Lingerie is a popular gift for Valentine’s Day – but for some, the fear of buying their partner the wrong size can take the fun out of the whole thing. Thankfully, there is a solution your lady will love.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

ThirdLove allows users to find their perfect bra measurements from the comfort of their own home by taking two pictures of themselves in the mirror with their iPhone. And, no, the app doesn’t require you to be naked or even topless to take the picture – a form fitting t-shirt will do the trick.

For bonus points, download an uber-romantic candle app and have it playing on your iPod dock when your Valentine gets home.

Or, give them some new music for their own collection. Apple allows iTunes users to gift albums, songs, movies and apps using the recipients Apple ID. Drake dropped a surprise album just in time for the occasion.
