HALIFAX – A 28-year-old Sydney man is facing charges after RCMP say he was driving more than 125 kilometres per hour above the posted speed limit.

RCMP in the Telford area spotted the man early Monday morning driving a Chevrolet Malibu that was travelling at 226 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometre per hour zone.

The driver was charged with stunting and received an automatic seven-day licence suspension. His rental vehicle was impounded.

If convicted, he could be fined about $2,400.
