SASKATOON – A traffic stop Monday morning in Saskatoon ended with a man being pepper sprayed after first hitting a police cruiser. The adventure began around 6:30 a.m. when an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked near Spadina Crescent and Pinehouse Drive.
The officer asked the man for his license and registration, which he refused to turn over. The officer attempted to arrest the man after determining he had a suspended license and an unregistered vehicle.

At that point, the man drove away, hitting a second patrol unit that had arrived to assist the first unit. He took off down Pinehouse to Warman Road and then downtown, followed by an unmarked police car at a safe distance and normal speeds.
The suspicious vehicle was eventually boxed-in at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 23rd Street by other police cars. When the driver refused to leave the vehicle, he was pepper sprayed.
