Woman pleads guilty after 2 teens killed in 22nd Street crash

SASKATOON – A woman charged in a fatal crash that killed two Saskatoon teenagers last spring has pleaded guilty to seven charges. Cheyann Chrystal Peeteetuce, 21, made the plea Wednesday at the Court of Queen’s Bench.

She pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal negligence causing death, one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm, possession of a stolen vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while impaired, evading police and breach of probation.

Peeteetuce was driving a stolen truck on May 5 when the vehicle slammed into two other vehicle at the intersection of 22nd Street and Avenue M. Two 17-year-old passengers in a vehicle that was struck, Sarah Wensley and James Haughey, were killed as a result. A third teen was injured in the crash.

Peeteetuce will be sentenced March 11.

A then-17-year-old girl also involved in the deadly collision is scheduled to stand trial on several charges next month.
