TORONTO – The Toronto Raptors revealed their new logo Friday.
A black and white version of the logo was posted on the team’s Facebook page Friday afternoon. The logo features some significant changes over the current one as claws can be seen holding a basketball encircled by “Toronto Raptors.”
The image highlights the “We The North” signature and says “We The North is our battle cry… and this… this is our shield.”
Eric Koreen, a reporter with the National Post, posted another version of the logo on Twitter Friday afternoon.
New uniforms will be unveiled towards the end of the season, according to a spokesperson for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
Fans wrote on Twitter the logo shares similarities with that of the Brooklyn Nets.
The Raptors currently sit atop the eastern conference standings with a 20-6 record. They are on a four game winning streak and play the Detroit Pistons in Detroit on Friday.
