Saskatoon Sutherland 

Saskatoon sutherland Larry Waldinger Green Party-  Larry Waldinger grew up in Saskatchewan and credits the prairie culture for his: “solid work ethic, appreciation for nature, respect for others, healthy whole, and stick-to-it-iveness.” 

At the age of eighteen he bought a taxi, an experience he says was an education in itself and also financed a return to education. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts and later received a teaching credential from one of the four universities and colleges attended. Waldinger was on the dean’s honour list and majored in psychology. For years he dedicated his life to teaching junior high school math to metropolitan, inner-city students. While teaching, he established a small service business.

Mr. Waldinger is also a published author in the field of corporate law. He is currently a bus driver.

Naveed Anwar New Democratic Party (NDP) – Naveed Anwar was selected as the NDP candidate at a nomination meeting on Oct. 2, 2010. Naveed is a runs a tax consulting firm in Saskatoon. Anwar’s education includes studying statistics and mathematics at the University of Punjab (Lahore) and studying business at Concordia University in Montreal. His background has afforded him the opportunity to learn five languages. 

Naveed and his wife Farah are pleased to be raising their children in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Liberal Party-  Kaleb Jeffries is a student. 

Paul Merriman Saskatchewan Party- (Incumbent) Paul Merriman was born and raised in Toronto and moved to Saskatchewan with his family in 1988. His father, Ted Merriman, served as the Saskatchewan Party MLA for Saskatoon Northwest from 2003 to 2007. Merriman says his father’s involvement in politics piqued his interest in the Saskatchewan Party. 

He is currently the Executive Director of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre. Prior to his employment with the Food Bank, he was employed with SaskEnergy for eight years setting up a province-wide salvage operation of used material that generated corporate savings for the Crown Corporation in excess of $8 million.

Paul and his wife, Leane Durand, a small business owner herself, have four children.
