WATCH: Surveillance video captures violent robbery of mother and baby

WATCH: Police are searching for a suspect after a mother, holding her infant son in her arms, was the victim of a violent robbery in the Bronx, New York. Andrea Grymes reports.

TORONTO – A search is on for a suspect in New York City after a mother and baby were violently knocked down and robbed of a cell phone last week in the Bronx.

According to surveillance video that captured the crime, the suspect approached the victim from behind and allegedly kicked her in the back. The force of the impact sent the infant to the ground – with the mother following soon after.

“I got scared,” the unidentified mother told WCBS reporter Andrea Grymes.

“I was holding my baby like this in front, and I felt something push me hard from the back, and I fell like this on my baby,” the mother added in Spanish.
