Winnipeg Jets unveil plans for skills competition

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets will once again open the doors to the public for their skills competition.

The third annual event is scheduled for Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at the MTS Centre.

The night will include five events, including fastest skater, hardest shot, an accuracy shooting challenge, a puck control relay and a breakaway relay.

The glass along the sideboards will be removed to let fans get an up-close look at their favourite players.

Last season Anthony Peluso won hardest shot with a 103.9 mile per hour boomer. Mark Scheifele was the fastest skater while Bryan Little won the shooting accuracy competition.

Tickets are already on sale with the proceeds to benefit the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation and the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund.
