Man found dead in slough with vehicle near Melfort, Sask.

MELFORT, Sask. – Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating after a fatal single vehicle crash was reported Monday.

At around 8:30 a.m., emergency services were called to a vehicle in a slough approximately three kilometres west of Melfort, Sask.

A 53-year-old man was found dead in the water near the vehicle, which was right-side up. With the assistance of the local fire department, the body was retrieved from the slough.

The Melfort area man’s name has not been released.

RCMP say road conditions were slick at the time of the crash.

Melfort is approximately 160 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
