SASKATOON – A chase involving RCMP and Saskatoon police ended Tuesday after the driver of a stolen truck drove over a spike belt at Royal University Hospital (RUH).
It began when Saskatoon RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious red truck on a rural property about 8 kilometres east of the city.
Responding officers spotted the truck travelling west on Highway 5 at a high rate of speed and gave chase.

Mounties ended the chase when the truck entered the city and Saskatoon police took over.
The driver headed down College and entered RUH’s parking lot. At that point, the driver turned around near the emergency services area and drove over the spike belt, deflating three tires.
The driver then headed down a dead-end service road where the chase ended.
No one was injured.
Police took four youths, two boys and two girls, into custody. Their names and ages have not been released.
The truck had been reported stolen to Rose Valley RCMP on Monday.
Police continue to investigate and charges are pending.
