Prince Edward starts Saskatchewan visit, includes Saskatoon stop

Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, will begin tour of Saskatchewan Wednesday with stop in Moose Jaw.

The prince will visit the Saskatchewan Dragoons Headquarters at 6 p.m.

It will be the third time Edward has visited Moose Jaw.

Prince Edward will be in Saskatoon near the roundabout at Avenue A South and Spadina Crescent for a monument unveiling Friday at 9:45 a.m.

The “Spirit of Alliance” monument recognizes and honours the contributions of multicultural allies in the War of 1812.

It was donated by Whitecap Dakota First Nation and the City of Saskatoon.

Those wanting to say hello to the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will get a chance when he greets the public along Avenue A South after the ceremony.

He will also visit Regina and Swift Current during his trip.

This is Prince Edward’s fifth visit to Saskatchewan and 37th to Canada.
