Man charged in fatal 2013 Saskatoon crash makes court appearance

SASKATOON – A man charged with killing Quinn Stevenson after a fatal crash in 2013 made his first appearance Wednesday in a Saskatoon courtroom.

Robin Tyler John, 26, is facing seven charges including impaired driving causing death, after Stevenson was killed in the early morning hours of Aug. 3, 2013 on College Drive.

Stevenson, 17, was on his way to work at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club.

For his parents, the pain has not gone away.

“There’s so many things we will never get to see or have,” said Bonny Stevenson.

“Quinn just had a hugely bright future ahead of him and that’s all been taken away from him and us.”

John, who is from the Duck Lake area, was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be back in court Thursday morning.

Along with impaired driving causing death, John has been charged with exceeding 0.08 blood alcohol content causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, criminal negligence causing death, obstruction of justice, breach of probation and breach of an undertaking.
