SASKATOON – The Quinn Stevenson Memorial Hockey Day was held in remembrance of the 17-year-old, who was killed in a tragic car crash on College Drive in August.

“Most kids walk across the stage and stand nice for picture perfect to take their pic, but no, Quinn pointed and winked, and you know, we laughed when we saw it, he’s alive in that picture,” said Mrs. Stevenson.
“It’s his spirit that I think we’re really focusing on always keeping alive,” she explained.
Thousands showed up at Centennial Collegiate a week after Quinn’s death to bid him a final farewell.
On Saturday, it was about paying homage to the fun-loving teenager.
“Quinn was one of the most compassionate, friendly, easy-going, hardworking kids that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” said Nicole Beatty, Centennial Collegiate teacher.
The Saskatoon Redwing Zone hosted the event at ACT Arena.
“We’re playing hockey and raising money for my brother’s scholarship,” said Shea Stevenson.
“There are definitely a lot of teams out here, I didn’t think there would be that many,” he said.
Quinn loved sports. He played hockey, baseball and dreamed of becoming a sportscaster.
The Quinn Stevenson Memorial Athletic and Spirit Scholarship will go to a local student who demonstrates excellence in leadership and is involved in the sports community.
