Riders Anthony Allen named CFL Player of the Week

REGINA – Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Anthony Allen has been named a CFL Player of the Week.

The 26-year-old was named Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 115 yards plus a TD on 18 carries in the Riders 30-24 victory over the Bombers.

Through seven regular season games this season, Allen has 83 carries for 477 yards and four touchdowns.

This is the first time in Allen’s career he has been named Offensive Player of the Week.

Montreal Alouettes Bear Woods was named Defensive Player of the Week, Alouettes James Rodgers was named Special Teams Player of the Week, and Stampeders Jon Cornish took home top Canadian of the Week honours.
