Chick and Bagg pick up CFL player of the week honours

REGINA – Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive end John Chick and wide receiver Rob Bagg have both been named a CFL players of the week.

For the second week in a row John Chick has been named the top defensive player in the CFL. The 31 year old had four tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in the Riders win over the Montreal Alouettes.

Through seven games this season Chick is leading the CFL with 12 quarterback sacks.

Bagg was named the CFL’s top Canadian player after he recorded six catches for 90 yards and added a TD to seal the Riders victory on Saturday night.

This is the fourth time in Bagg’s career that he has been named a player of the week.

Stefan Logan from the B.C. Lions was named the offensive player of the week, and the Lions’ Tim Brown was also named special teams player of the week.
