CALGARY – Two men from Calgary are facing charges after a police pursuit in Canmore, early Tuesday morning.

RCMP were alerted to be on the lookout for a male driver suspected of impaired driving. It was also reported the driver and his passenger were suspected of trying to pass off counterfeit money.

Officers located the suspects on the TransCanada Highway, but say they refused to stop when police tried to get them to pull over.

Police pursued the vehicle, eventually deploying spike belts to stop it on Highway 40 near Kananaskis.

The suspects are facing a handful of charges including possession of property obtained by crime, possession of counterfeit currency and impaired driving.
