CALGARY- An investigation has been launched, after human remains were found near Banff.
RCMP were initially called to Vermillion Lakes Road on April 5, after bones were found. They were sent to the medical examiner, who determined they were human.

Due to weather conditions at the time, a proper search of the area could not be done until Wednesday. The Major Crimes Unit from Calgary along with specialized RCMP teams were brought in, at which point they discovered even more bones.
Vermillion Lakes Road was closed for most of the day as a result, but was scheduled to reopen around 9 p.m.
Anyone who has any information in regards to the human remains is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
