NORHT BATTLEFORD, Sask. – Heading into Saturday’s game, only two teams were left standing in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL).

The Battleford Stars and the Notre Dame Argos were battling for the provincial title at the North Battleford Civic Centre.

There wasn’t much surprise with this match-up as these were the top two squads in the league. Both teams had a combined 15 regulation losses in regular season play.

It was a pivotal game four in the series on Saturday afternoon with the Argos trying to win the championship and the Stars trying to stay afloat a little longer.

Argos ended up winning 3-2 and are 2014 SMAAAHL champions.

For the last two years, the Saskatoon Contacts won provincials and made it to nationals.
