BRIDGEWATER, N.S. – A teenager testified Tuesday that he was blindfolded and his hands and feet were chained to a bed when he was sexually assaulted by a man at a remote cabin in rural Nova Scotia.

The boy is testifying at the jury trial of John Leonard MacKean, who has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault and communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services from a person under 18.

His identity is protected by a publication ban.

Earlier Tuesday, Crown prosecutor Lloyd Tancock said in his opening statement that he will introduce DNA evidence along with text messages between the accused and one of the men who kept the youth confined in a cabin in Lunenburg County, about 130 kilometres southwest of Halifax.
