Some B.C. grocery store customers are being warned they may be victims of a cybersecurity breach.
The Pattison Food Group, which operates the More Rewards loyalty program through its Save-On-Foods, Buy-Low Foods, PriceSmart Foods and Nesters stores, said it discovered unusual activity on one of its servers on Tuesday.

It said the server was down and a third-party cybersecurity expert was brought in.
“We confirmed Friday that customers’ personal information on the More Rewards database was accessed,” the company said in a statement to Global News.
“The information includes name, and, if provided, address, phone number, email addresses, and date of birth.
“Based on the information available to us, no other personal information (e.g., passwords, credit card data, or transaction history) was accessed, and the More Rewards accounts themselves remain secure.”
The Pattison Food Group did not say how many customers were affected.

I was a victim of this incident too, so all my family. More people they are saying, if not everyone. The least Save on Foods should do is to offer those impacted with free cybersecurity protection for a year or two. Very disappointing. If you need to contact them better to call them directly. Yes. We are working to make credit monitoring available to customers who would like it and will provide an update as soon as the service is in place.
Let’s hope and please ask for it
I was a victim of this incident. I think the least Save on Foods should do is offer those impacted with free cybersecurity coverage for a year or two. I replied to their notification email about the breach with this question but ofcourse it didn’t go through and there was no other contact info provided. Please do a follow up piece on this issue -asking Savo on Foods what they plan to do to help affected customers and what they are doing to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
I see hamburger has gone up a dollar plus a whloe lot of other things, is that part of this cyberseurity breach or is it just another old fashion RIPOFF by the billionaires
Sue these poverty exploiting criminals into bankruptcy
My apple account was compromised this morning.
Coincidence?
This is a serious issue and they send an email saying sorry for the inconvenience. Meanwhile, the personal information accessed is enough to create a false identity. To know some criminal has my address is extremely unnerving! What can be done about this breach!?!
I was a victim of this in Powell river b.c., the save on more and quality foods here were sharing info on me. They’re very unprofessional here in Powell River. – Mike
Like the ashole owners give a sht about their customers
I contacted them in early September that my account had been hacked, they ignored me, said I was lying, hung up on me, belittled me, refused to do anything. Now they say it just happened? They knew over a month ago about this.
Stop asking for and storing our data.
Seems like the more security put in place, the more breaches we have. Now on top of it all we have to worry about AI breaching data. Secured data is nothing more than a fake security blanket – there is no protected data.
