EDMONTON – The University of Saskatchewan women’s basketball team is coming home champions.

The Huskies downed Fraser Valley 67-56 in the gold medal game at the Canada West Final Four in Edmonton.

Kabree Howard lead the Huskies with 20 points and six assists while Dalyce Emmerson recorded a double-double with 19 points and 22 rebounds along with eight blocked shots.

This is the third time in team history and the second in four years the Huskies have won the Canada West title.

It also marks the 100th title in the history of Huskies Athletics varsity programs.

The team will now head to Windsor, Ont. for the CIS Championship from March 14-16, the seventh time in the past nine years the team has headed to the national finals.
