HAMILTON, Ont. – Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has taken control of the investigation into a stabbing incident in Hamilton that left several people injured.
City police say 9-1-1 calls started coming in just before 10 o’clock last night about people being stabbed at an apartment building in the city’s east end.

When officers arrived they found several people in need of immediate medical attention.
As the officers and Emergency Services personnel were helping the wounded police were alerted to a male suspect who fled the scene on foot. Officers gave chase and made an arrest.

Police haven’t confirmed reports the suspect was Tasered, however, they say he was taken to hospital for treatment of undetermined injuries.
Four other people were also rushed to hospital, however, their conditions are unknown.
