Sask Sport names 2013 sports award winners

SASKATOON – Sask Sport Inc. has announced the recipients of the 2013 Saskatchewan Sport Awards.

Nominations were submitted by Sask Sport active and affiliate member organizations for awards in the 13 categories.

A voting process involving Saskatchewan’s sports media and Sask Sport active and affiliate member organizations was then used to determine the recipient in each category.

“The Sport Awards celebrate the hard work, dedication and commitment of the outstanding amateur athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers in our province,” said Shane Reoch, president of Sask Sport.

“Sask Sport Inc. is proud to honour their remarkable achievements. Congratulations to all of the award recipients, finalists and nominees. You truly embody the adage that sport is more than a game.”

The recipients for the 2013 Athlete of the Year Awards are:
