3 Canadians advance to women’s ski slopestyle final

TORONTO – Ontario’s Dara Howell leads the way to the women’s ski slopestyle finals as three of four Canadians advance to the medal round.

Howell finished first in the qualifying round with a best score of 88.80. Quebec’s Kim Lamarre finished second with a best score of 85.40, while B.C. native Yuki Tsubota finished fourth with a score of 81.00.

Medal favourite and world champion Kaya Turski had her Olympic dreams cut short after crashing out in both qualifying runs in the Olympic debut of women’s ski slopestyle.

The seven-time Winter X Games champion underwent ACL surgery in August.

Ski slopestyle finals are scheduled to begin at 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT.
